Goodyear Partners With Shelby South Africa In A Show Of Power And Control. Goodyear South Africa partnered with Shelby South Africa at the 2024 Festival of Motoring to demonstrate the thrills of Shelby South Africa’s high-powered muscle cars and the precision and control afforded by Goodyear’s Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres.

Visitors at this year’s Festival of Motoring had the unique opportunity to experience the ecstasy of true American muscle and exhilarating open-top fun around the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, in a variety of supercars such as the supercharged Shelby Mustang, fitted with Goodyear’s Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres.

Paul Gerrard, Managing Director of Goodyear South Africa, said: “The SuperSport range is Goodyear’s race-inspired Ultra Ultra-high performance (UUHP) tyres designed to push the limit on the track. They are also designed to provide the ultimate levels of grip and steering precision on and off the track, while delivering excellent cornering stability.

“These are qualities that can only be truly perceived and appreciated from inside a vehicle during a rigorous drive, and our partnership with Shelby South Africa at this year’s Festival of Motoring afforded us the opportunity to engage with South African motorists at such an intimate level.”

Paige Lindenberg, General Manager at Shelby South Africa, who also participated as racecar driver at Festival of Motoring, said: “It’s always a great pleasure to showcase Shelby South Africa’s incredible cars to car enthusiasts at events such as the Festival of Motoring.”

“In such cases, you want to push the cars to the absolute limit to show their true capability. That can only be done when the driver has the type of confidence that’s inspired by Goodyear’ Eagle F1 SuperSport tyres, knowing that the car will stay planted on the road, even in the most extreme circumstances.”
