Opportunity for Black-Owned Businesses: Apply for the SARS–NEF Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme

Black-owned businesses looking to grow, scale, and access major corporate supply chains now have a valuable opportunity through the Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) Programme led by the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) in partnership with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).

The programme is designed to empower 51% Black-owned Exempted Micro Enterprises (EMEs) and Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSEs) by equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to become competitive, compliant, and procurement-ready to participate in the SARS supply chain.

What the Programme Offers

This 4-day in-person capacity-building programme provides entrepreneurs with practical tools to strengthen and scale their businesses. Participants will receive training in:

  • Business strategy and leadership
  • Financial management and compliance readiness
  • Understanding SARS procurement processes
  • Improving tendering capability and market access

The goal is to prepare Black-owned businesses to successfully navigate procurement systems and position themselves as credible suppliers within large institutional supply chains.

Targeted Business Sectors

The programme is focused on businesses operating in sectors aligned with SARS operational requirements, including:

  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Professional Services
  • Corporate Real Estate

Entrepreneurs operating in these sectors are particularly encouraged to apply.

National Rollout Underway

The programme has already been successfully hosted in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and the Western Cape, with additional sessions now being rolled out across South Africa.

To ensure focused participation, dates and venue details will only be shared with registered applicants who are selected for the programme.
