Mpumalanga Youth in Tourism Fund Opens Applications for 2026

Mpumalanga Youth in Tourism Fund Opens Applications for 2026. Young entrepreneurs in Mpumalanga are being given a unique opportunity to turn their tourism dreams into thriving businesses with the launch of the Mpumalanga Youth in Tourism Fund 2026. The initiative is designed to support youth-owned enterprises across the tourism value chain, offering funding assistance to help build sustainable businesses that create jobs and drive local economic development.
The fund is open to Mpumalanga-based youth entrepreneurs operating in sectors such as accommodation, hospitality, travel, wellness, cultural tourism, entertainment, and attractions. By targeting these diverse areas, the programme aims to strengthen the province’s tourism ecosystem while empowering young people to become active contributors to economic growth.
Applications are now officially open, with a closing date set for 31 July 2026. Interested entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply online via the National Youth Development Agency’s portal: https://erp.nyda.gov.za.
The fund represents a strategic investment in the future of tourism, recognising that youth-led innovation can play a transformative role in shaping the industry. By removing barriers to entry and providing financial support, the initiative seeks to ensure that promising ideas do not remain unrealised due to lack of resources.
Beyond financial assistance, the programme is expected to foster a culture of entrepreneurship among young people, encouraging them to see tourism not only as a career path but as a platform for community development, cultural preservation, and sustainable growth.
For many aspiring entrepreneurs, the Mpumalanga Youth in Tourism Fund offers more than funding—it provides a chance to build businesses that leave a lasting impact on communities and showcase the province’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
