Tutuka Seeks To Make Financial Services Easily Accessible. Tutuka is an award winning global Fintech with an enterprise level, highly secure financial processing system that powers tens of millions of transactions and makes it easy for people to issue, redeem and reconcile prepaid cards all over the world. It has clients in more than 20 countries and process more than $1billion in transactions per year.  The company was co-founded by Rowan Brewer, who also serves as its CEO in 1998. “Tutuka consisted of a fax machine, a computer, a table and two people in a small office in Johannesburg. Today our footprint spans more than 25 emerging markets.” it said on its website. The company is determined to find simple solutions to complicated problems; handling all the technical details, so that the client can focus on their own business.

The company embraces a culture of inclusion, because a diverse viewpoint lets them see a much bigger picture. Tukuka means progress or growth in isiZulu, the company believes in diversity, equality, inclusion and making things work on a global stage. It has over 100 employees from more than 29 countries; Tutuka’s product team is experienced and diverse with members spreading across four continents.

It has managed to partner with Zambian Fintech Zazu to enhance the digital payments landscape in Africa through launching its first MasterCard virtual card. The company makes payments happen by enabling their clients’ customers to pay with MasterCard, Visa or Union Pay cards and products. Its processor model enables fintechs, mobile wallets, apps and banks to easily issue MasterCard, Visa and Union payments products, like physical or virtual cards that are linked to the value in their customers’ wallets or accounts. The company aims to achieve financial inclusion through this as it will give customers easy access to send and receive money.

The company is also determined to give back to the communities that it is operating in as it helped Jabulile Chonco with her journey to becoming a medical doctor as it helped her to be accepted into the South African-Cuban Medical Scholarship. “My dream is actually becoming a reality, the impact that Tutuka has made in my life will always remain in my heart.” said Chonco in a statement on the company’s website.
