This 2021 Mazda BT-50 Bakkie Is Set To Be Launched In South Africa. Mazda doesn’t offer pared-back ‘traffic controller’ models aimed at fleets on a budget. The only model in the line-up available with a cab-chassis is the XT and even it includes carpeted floors and alloy wheels. As we already know, the third-generation BT-50 is based on the all-new Isuzu D-Max and shares its 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine. It produces 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Like the D-Max, the BT-50 has a much longer list of safety equipment than before. All BT-50 and D-Max models come standard with autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and rear cross-traffic alert, among other features. The starting price for the Mazda BT-50 is R529 216.
