Cassper Nyovest’s Collaboration With Drip Footwear Root Of Fame Launches Its First Sneaker

Cassper Nyovest’s Collaboration With Drip Footwear Root Of Fame Launches Its First Sneaker. South African musician and entrepreneur Cassper Nyovest today released his first sneaker line. Released in partnership with Drip Footwear, the sneaker was unveiled to the public at the Root Of Fame conference. The event hosted by Pamela Mtanga was held online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The brands launched the sneaker called the Root Of Fame 990 at an exclusive event which was broadcasted live on Cassper’s YouTube channel. “I asked myself how I can package this fame and sell it, I had to make a product that not only is associated with my name but gives people a taste of how it feels to be me.” said Cassper Nyovest. The launch saw the brand printing a 240 square metre banner and placing it on the tallest building in Africa, this is the same venue that the ‘Legacy Deal’ was signed by Cassper Nyovest and Drip Footwear founder Lekau Sehoana.

The shoe was available from midnight today for pre-order on Drip Footwear’s website and it will also be available at all the Drip stores on the 16th of July countrywide. “This is more of a movement, more than anything so you can expect more collaborations under the ‘Root Of Fame’, there is so much that is going to be coming, more products as well, just look out.” said Lekau Sehoana.

Cassper Nyovest is constantly building his brand outside of his music. The Family Tree CEO has collaborated with Samsung and vodka brand Ciroc in the past and seems to open to more deals. Ciroc is one of his biggest endorsement deals in his career so far. Their endorsement began in 2017, when Nyovest displayed in his music video, Tito Mboweni several Cîroc bottles. Ciroc then unveiled their deal with Nyovest.

In 2015, Nyovest endorsed with MTN and AG Mobile in launching a smartphone named, AG Hashtag which was inspired and partly designed by him. He also endorsed with other brands including, Shoprite, Samsung South Africa, Coca-Cola, KFC SA, Castle Lite and Nike SA. The SA Hip Hop mogul has always been pushing boundaries in his quest of being the first SA Hip Hop billionaire and with the business moves he is pulling; Nyovest is well on his way to being one.
