DJ Shimza’s Kunye Event Partners With Tshepo Jeans. South African DJ and entrepreneur DJ Shimza’s took to Instagram to announce that his Kunye Event has partnered with local Jeans manufacturer Tshepo Jeans. The partnership is set to produce a collection of merchandise that will be sold at the Kunye Event.

The post read, “PSA!!! We are KUNYE (together) with @tshepojeans through this fire collab! Get them at Kunye this Sunday, tickets available online! Thank you @tshepomohlala_ #KUNYE #KUNYExTshepoJeans @_thabee.” Standing as one of Southern Africa’s most prolific and sought-after artists, Shimza who has amassed over 2 million followers across the board, has set his sights on raising the global recognition of the rich South African musical heritage through the launch of his very own label, KUNYE. KUNYE have set the sights on raising the global recognition of the rich South African musical heritage, with the main focus of the label being the development of a few selected talented African producers.

This collaboration between these two local brands signifies that African entrepreneurship is on the rise. Most African brands were limited in terms of resources for making their own products now brands are able to partner with each other and create products of quality. This is why collaboration is regarded as a better way of building something as more and more people are involved and this brings out innovative ideas that will be critiqued and assessed before they are implemented which results in the products that are produced to be of top quality.

Since its creation in 2015 by Tshepo Mohlala, the brand’s purpose was clear; to connect with people through the stories that its designs tell. Tshepo Jeans is a lifestyle brand founded in South Africa, it offers a range of bespoke denim clothing and ready-to-wear products, the brand has established itself in the hearts and minds of ordinary South Africans and people across the world, where it’s brand has been applauded. Its decision to specialise in denim is due to its distinctly nostalgic character and its ability to tell stories.
