Co-Founder Of Crossfin Dean Sparrow Details How Covid-19 Acted As An Accelerator For His Start-Up. In an interview with SABC News, co-founder and CEO of Crossfin Dean Sparrow detailed how Covid-19 acted as an accelerator for his startup. Sparrow acknowledges the negative effects the pandemic has had on businesses but he says his business was affected positively.

He said, “So we’ve actually been very fortunate, in fact what Covid-19 has done for our business as a whole and as in fact each of our individual pillars, it has essentially driven an acceleration around the consumer’s willingness to use a mechanism to make payment other than cash, we typically found that consumers post the pandemic are more inclined to do an online transaction through an eCommerce payment capability or using a card capability or even the mobile coupon or voucher capability, and that has been a very positive impact on our business fortunately. Obviously a number of businesses and industries have been negatively affected by the covid pandemic, we are fortunate within the fintech business of Crossfin, the pandemic has actually been an accelerator to the consumer’s willingness to utilise our products and offerings.”

The digital industry has been growing popularity over the years but when the pandemic hit, the growth of the industry was very rapid because a lot of people were now stuck at home and were forced to use other means of buying and paying for goods. This is why eCommerce platforms and online payment systems such as Crossfin have been able to accelerate their growth.

By 2022 Crossfin Technology is targeting to be Africa’s leading independent Fintech group as measured by both the volume and value of transactions processed through its platforms, driven by the continued introduction of products, services & customers facilitating the ongoing growth of the digital commerce ecosystem. With the way the industry is growing, Crossfin is set to achieve its goal.
