Founder Of BeautyonTApp Mathebe Molise Highlights How Her Day Job Contributed To The Building Of Her Start-Up. South African entrepreneur and founder of BeautyonTApp Mathebe Molise took to Twitter to highlight how her day job contributed to the building of her startup. Many people see having a day job as a distraction to their entrepreneurial aspirations, for Molise a day job contributed immensely to her starting a business.

The post read, “My 9-5 has contributed so much to building @BeautyonTApp. 1. It’s funded the entire business 2. I’ve learned work ethic and sticking to deadlines 3. I’ve seen the power and importance of processes, policies and procedures 4. Efficiency can differentiate you. Don’t mize them”

People who have day jobs but are interested in pursuing an entrepreneurial career should look at their jobs as a means of attaining capital so that they can start their own company. Having a job gives entrepreneurs a chance to save up money and build a business in their own terms as they will not be desperate for investors. There are a lot of benefits that people can take from having a day job, the skills and knowledge that are attained can help in terms of building a business.

Molise highlighted that having a day job has helped her with funding her entire business, learning about work ethic and how processes, policies and procedures work in a company. Through this knowledge Molise was about to set up her business in a way that it functions at an optimum level due to the experience she gained from her day job.

Having a day job does not only contribute financially to a side business but it also contributes to the entrepreneurs mindset. Entrepreneurs should be willing to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes for them to build their business, therefore a day job should only be helping entrepreneurs to know more about themselves so that they can apply that knowledge to their business.
