SA Entrepreneur Bontle Chabalala Reflects On Opening Her Own Restaurant At 18 Years Old

SA Entrepreneur Bontle Chabalala Reflects On Opening Her Own Restaurant At 18 Years Old. South African entrepreneur Bontle Chabalala took to Twitter to reflect on opening her own restaurant at the age of 18. She said that it was her dream since high school for her to open her own place, and now she has fulfilled her dreams.

The post read, “not me finally opening up my food joint at age 18!! I have always wanted to open up a food business since high-school and now that it’s finally happening, it feels like a dream, I am grateful for my family and friends for being there for me every step of the way, I will be uploading my menu, prices, location etc.. later on”

“Hey beasties, the name of my food joint is flame bunk, based in PTA, Sosha, block p & here’s a few pictures of the food I’ll be selling, there’s pancakes, muffins, pies, creamy chicken pasta, lasagna and more – everything will be more detailed on the menu!” Chabalala added. This is a great moment for this young entrepreneur as she managed to do whatever it took to make her dreams a reality. Establishing a restaurant at this young age is not something easy to do as there are a lot of challenges that may arise that could cause one to quit such as lack of capital.

“I finished my matric in 2020 so last year I was working for my mom in her business so i was able to save up money when she paid me and she also helped with the start up capital.” Chabalala mentioned that she was working at her mom’s business before finishing high school and she was saving the money she was earning there so that she could fund her business, she also said that her mom played a huge role in raising the startup capital as she also invested in the business.
