Media Personality Lerato Kganyago Is Allegedly Suing Bathu Sneakers. It has been reported that South African media personality Lerato Kganyago is suing Bathu Sneakers for the outstanding payment for her ambassadorship contract. According to Sunday World Kganyago has sent Bathu a letter demanding the outstanding R315 000 of the R600 000 she was promised to be paid after Bathu terminated her contract as brand ambassador.

Kganyago told Sunday times that she signed a contract with Bathu so that she can be the ambassador of the brand and she was supposed to be paid R600 000, Bathu only managed to pay Kganyago R 185 000 and R35 000 tranches between March and June last year. When Kganyago sent an email to enquire about the outstanding payment, she was told by the company’s representative, Mashudu Ndophu that they company had decided to cancel Kganyago contract along with other partners due to financial constraints. However Ndophu also promised that the outstanding amount would be paid to Kganyago, but according to Kganyago she still hasn’t been paid by the sneaker brand.

In an email that was sent to Sunday World, Ndophu said, “As per my communication on the 6th November, please be advised that Bathu Pty Ltd has decided to terminate our contract with Ms Lerato Kganyago. As a business, we have had to cut back on expenses and we have had to terminate numerous contracts with some of our valuable stakeholders such as Ms Lerato Kganyago. Please be advised that finance [department]has been instructed to make payment in the outstanding retainer. The POP should be sent by next week,”

Bathu is a South African sneaker brand that was established by Theo Baloyi, he sought to bring a modern black owned shoe brand to the market that will be able to create opportunities for all that are involved in building it. However business payments always should be made on time and Kganyago has the right to fight for what she thinks is due to her as she was also involved in helping the company grow.
