Interview With Founder Of GOOD VIBES Lifestyle Agency Jordan Epstein
Interview With Founder Of GOOD VIBES Lifestyle Agency Jordan Epstein. Digital media has disrupted a lot of industries in terms of how businesses operate or market themselves. We recently had an interview with the founder of GOOD VIBES Lifestyle Agency Jordan Epstein about his creative entrepreneurial journey in the digital media space and how digital media has changed the business landscape. Check out the interview below.
1. What made you realise that you are passionate about entrepreneurship and the marketing industry?
It definitely started from a young age for me, I’ve always been interested in business and the art of creating opportunity, whether it be bringing innovative new products or services to the market or enhancing existing products or services. The thrill of succeeding and seeing something grow that you’ve created can’t be matched.
2. What problem did you want to solve when you were launching GOOD VIBES Lifestyle Agency?
For me, I feel that a lot of agencies historically have not given the talent much creative input in the process with jobs being a bit transactional in a sense. At GOOD VIBES, we work with many influencers who we like to include in the creative marketing strategy because, at the end of the day, they themselves are experts in self marketing. We want our talent to submerge themselves in the products that they are putting their name behind, therefore allowing the message to be amplified to a large targeted digital landscape at a believable level. The cultural landscape has evolved, historical marketing techniques must evolve with it and that’s what the team at GOOD VIBES strive to achieve.
3. How has digital technology played a role in the success of your marketing start-up?
Digital technology is pretty much at the core of everything we do. Historically, due to the landscape of the time, the marketing industry was monopolised by only large players. The emergence of digital platforms has opened the door for smaller agencies like GOOD VIBES to lay down it’s special innovative footprint on what is becoming, if not already, the primary focus of the future of marketing.
4. Do you think there is potential for the digital marketing sector to grow in Africa with the low levels of internet access there is right now?
Yes there is definitely potential, Africa is one of the largest emerging markets, especially South Africa. Obviously high data prices and low income in many of the African countries is hindering when it comes to digital marketing where above the line marketing is still number one. However with innovations in cellular infrastructure and technology moving forward with leaps and bounds we’re sure Africa’s marketing future will slowly move to digital platforms.
5. How do you make sure that your company provides relevant and current marketing solutions for its clients?
GOOD VIBES eats, sleeps and breathes the latest “What’s Hot and What’s Not” when it comes to social media and trends, especially culturally in South Africa. That’s our business, being constantly on top of who or what is trending is what our clients pay us for, without that insight into the world of your consumer base we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
6. Where do you see the company in the next 5 years?
With the digital marketing area growing at such a fast pace it’s imperative to stay relevant and maintain, as well as build new relationships with the current faces as well as the future faces driving the digital platform industry. The next 5 years will shape the industry and GOOD VIBES will definitely be there at the forefront of this media revolution.
7. What kind of social impact are you hoping to achieve with GOOD VIBES Lifestyle Agency?
GOOD VIBES is all about empowerment as self-upliftment. In this new era anyone with drive and vision can become someone and we are there to make those dreams reality. Some of the Influencers we have on our books come from very humble backgrounds and from pure determination they have been able to position themselves where we can help them take their careers to the next level and maximise on their success.
8. What are some of the challenges you have faced since the start of your business?
Obviously with the COVID pandemic things have been tough for many small and large businesses alike. Social restrictions have been hampering especially when a huge part of our business involves networking with talent and creating relationships on a social level as well as on a professional level. I always say “With Adversity Comes Opportunity” which is definitely the case as social restrictions limit physical interaction this in effect have brought an ever growing audience to social media platforms.
9. With the growing use of digital technologies, what do you think start-ups should mainly focus on if they want to gain exposure in 2022?
As the world opens up again It’s all about networking and getting your face and brand out there, meet people, don’t be afraid to connect and take chances. This is what GOOD VIBES is all about. In this new era anyone from a 12 year old to 100 year old can do anything if you’re marketed right, the future is now and at your fingertips if you’re willing to put the work in.
10. Since you are involved in the Cryptocurrency space, how can companies best enter the space so that they can also benefit from it in the long term?
Crypto in a way is much like our type of Digital Marketing, a kind of decentralized zone. When it comes to Crypto, companies need to jump on board because it is a long-term investment and the purchasing power of fiat currency decreases vs not-sovereign deflationary currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum increase. It should be noted that some of the biggest companies worldwide such as Google, SpaceX, Tesla & Microstrategy constantly add cryptocurrency to their balance sheets and this ultimately leads to the long-term sustainability and growth of the business for the future.
11. Do you think it is viable for African start-ups to consider investing in the Metaverse at this stage?
This is a tough question to answer, lack of digital infrastructure and low income is always going to hamper Africa in entering the digital revolution but the digital arena has no borders. South Africa especially has historically been the birthplace of some of the giants in innovative tech like Elon Musk, Africa has great minds and even though something might not presently be viable in Africa right now, it doesn’t mean it should be discarded.
12. What is your ultimate vision or goal for GOOD VIBES Lifestyle Agency with regards to the fourth industrial revolution?
GOOD VIBES is the epitome of 4IR, the days of the mega forces in the industry holding the monopoly is no longer the case as the digital platform is open to anyone with foresight, vision and creativity to exploit. We are what 4IR is all about the small guys taking the business by the horns and going for it.
13. How can companies best utilise digital media during the Covid 19 pandemic to make sure that they stay in business and are not forced to shut down?
Digital media is broad based, most companies have some sort of presence whether it be on Facebook or other social media platforms. I think the nature of the business is obviously important when embarking on a promotion campaign but in the new digital era a small investment can take you a long way, the customers are there waiting, you just need the skills to tap into it and that’s where GOOD VIBES can assist. It’s all about having a presence and utilising the tools that are available to anyone if they know how to use them.
