SA Entrepreneur Inga Gubeka Shares Why Local Brands Should Prioritise Marketing. South African entrepreneur and founder of Inga Atelier Inga Gubeka took to Twitter to share why local brands should prioritise marketing, he also added that they should not only rely on them being a local brand as a marketing strategy.

The post read, “Local brands need to understand they still have to market their brands just like any other brand, can’t rely on just being local as marketing.” This is a dilemma that a lot of local brands face, some do not see the need for marketing as they believe that entrepreneurs should focus on making good products because good products sell themselves. While others believe that there are a lot of entrepreneurs with good products that are not selling and with a good marketing strategy in place, they can be able to make sales.

Marketing isn’t about whether the product is good or bad, it is about making sure that customers are exposed to the product one is making, this way the product will have more people knowing about it and this will increase the number of of people that might be interested in buying which in turn increases sales one can make. Some products are not of good quality but when they are marketed with the best strategy they can make more sales that products that offer excellent quality with no marketing strategy.

Gubeka understands this hence he makes sure to invest in marketing his products so that they can be exposed to a large audience which will give his products more chances of being purchased. Inga Gubeka is the founder of Inga Atelier, which is a brand that manufactures luxurious leather bags, through his marketing strategies, Gubeka managed to build his business to be where it is today, as it has achieved a lot since it was established in 2013.
