Cassper Nyovest
Refiloe Maele Phoolo, professionally known as Cassper Nyovest, is a South African rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur and record producer. Born and raised in Mahikeng, North West, he is regarded as one of the most successful artists in South Africa. Nyovest collaborated with Drip Footwear Founder Lekau Sehoana and established a new brand called ‘Root Of Fame’ which released its own sneakers last year called the #990s, the brand is set to release more products in the future.
Youngsta CPT
Riyadh Roberts known professionally as YoungstaCPT is a South African rapper and songwriter. He is known for incorporating details about his Cape Malay culture and his Cape Town roots in his music. The rapper’s clothing label YGen Apparel partnered with Street Fever ZA in order to create a trendy sneaker that was released late last year, it aims to embrace and celebrate the Cape Town sneaker culture.
Makhadzi
Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, known by her stage name Makhadzi, is a South African singer. Born and raised in Ha-Mashamba, Limpopo, she is best known for her songs “Themba muthu” and “Matorokisi”. Makhadzi revealed last year that she had signed a R120 million partnership with Kicks Sportswear in order to release a sneaker brand called Kokovha.
