Tastic launches guilt-free indulgence for SA snack lovers
Tastic, a popular brand among South African families, recently introduced a new line of rice chips and cakes that are sure to become everyone’s go-to crunchy treats. These delicious, healthy nibbles promise a ton of flavor and a ton of benefits for snack enthusiasts.
The FunTastic event was held on December 14th, 2022 at Summer Place and allowed journalists the chance to sample the four amazing flavors of the Rice Chips, which include BBQ, Mrs. H.S. Ball’s Sweet Chilli, and Mrs. H.S. Ball’s Chutney with Sour Cream and Chives.
The perfect guilt-free snack, Tastic Rice Chips are air popped, pressure pressed, and have 56% less fat than South Africa’s top potato chip brand. Tastic Rice Cakes on the other hand are inherently low-calorie snacks and are made from the perfectly selected Tastic brown and white rice grains.

“This latest product offering was inspired by market research findings conducted by internal team. The research indicated that total packed food market in South Africa is valued over R300 billion with savoury snacks contributing just over R20 billion, making it the third biggest after dairy and confectionery. In light of this, we wanted to capitalize on this growing category by launching a product that’s not just healthy but taste good as well.” continued Sehloho.
The highlight of the occasion was the grand unveiling of the harvest table, which Chef Nti and Chef Lerato had created. It featured a spread of artfully arranged Tastic Rice Chips and Tastic Rice Cakes, along with delectable dips and flavorful toppings to show off several ways to enjoy the snack. Keeping up with the enjoyment, DJ Lamiez captivated the audience and had everyone on their feet.
