Serengeti Energy Announces The Appointment Of New CEO. The Board of Directors of Serengeti Energy Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Anton-Louis Olivier as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer effective 9th October 2023.
He brings a long track record of working across the African continent and wealth of experience in all aspects of independent power producer (IPP) development and financing, and on hydropower specifically ranging from procurement to construction and operations.
He founded and served as CEO of the REH Group of companies (South Africa) from 2006-2021 and established Renewable Energy Holdings (REH) as a hydropower development business and the group grew become a leading developer, owner, and operator of small hydropower plants in South Africa with activities also extending across Southern Africa. In 2021 REH was acquired by Serengeti Energy Limited and now forms part of the Serengeti Energy Group. Most recently Anton-Louis was the Head Hydropower Africa for Scatec Africa (Pty) Limited in South Africa responsible for the business development of Scatec’s SubSaharan Africa hydropower projects. He is also serving as Board member of the International Hydropower Association (IHA).
Anton-Louis has a background in Mechanical Engineering and in Economics, as well as key competencies including leadership, entrepreneurial business development, project finance structuring and power plant asset management, all of which are aligned with the Serengeti Energy strategy. “I am looking forward to joining Serengeti Energy, to growing and expanding its business operations, creating value for all its stakeholders and making a meaningful impact on the renewable energy and broader economic landscape in sub-Sahara Africa” remarked Anton-Louis Olivier.
