Cape Town Spurs FC Announce A Strategic Alliance With Core Sports Capital. Cape Town Spurs F.C. are happy to announce a new strategic alliance with Core Sports Capital (CSC). Core Sports Capital, is an alliance that owns and manages football clubs with high growth potential aiming to deliver long-term sporting and economic success.
CSC’s stable of clubs is headed by Clermont Foot 63, a club in French League 1 based in Clermont-Ferrand and plays its matches at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied located in the city. In 2021, Clermont achieved promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time. The other two clubs associated with CSC are SC Austria Lustenau and the Swiss club F.C .Biel-Bienne in the 3rd Division.
Young Bafana Academy, a club based in Somerset West, Cape Town, has also been identified as an alliance partner by CSC and will form part of the extended family in the Western Cape. CT Spurs F.C and CSC’s mission, is to improve talent identification and development and to prepare players for the reality of European Football.
Sharing training methods, facilitating CT Spurs and the 3 clubs in Europe for staff visits and exchanging of players is high on the agenda. The spread of clubs in different countries and divisions allow players to fit into a club or league that will best suit them depending on the level required for their personal development on and off the field. “We are very pleased to announce the relationship with CSC. The link up with European clubs was high on our priority list once we were promoted back to the PSL.” said an enthused Alexi Efstathiou, CEO of CT Spurs.
“The added pathways that this will bring to our academy players is invaluable as they can now set their sights on achieving their European dreams with a club that is within their midst. No longer should they be thinking of only the PSL. If they work hard enough, live the correct lifestyle and get themselves up to the required physical levels that European football demands, there is no reason that they cannot make it abroad. We have talented players in the country, we just need to prepare them better for the demands of international football.” added Efstathiou.
