SA Heritage Sites Showcase New Ultra-Trail Running Partnership. Trail running is the world’s fastest-growing sport, and an expanded partnership is set to showcase two of South Africa’s most stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites on the global sporting stage. Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) and Summit Events announce the expansion of its strategic partnership, with the inclusion of RMB Ultra-trail Drakensberg.
The partnership includes RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town, scheduled for November 22-24, 2024, with RMB Ultra-trail Drakensberg set for April 25-27, 2025. These races will challenge elite athletes and offer all participants the opportunity to experience South Africa’s breathtaking landscapes in a unique and exhilarating way.
Notably, the partnership showcases two of South Africa’s most stunning UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Table Mountain and the Maloti Drakensberg Mountains, offering runners an exceptional opportunity to experience these natural wonders on foot. “This partnership represents a significant milestone in positioning South Africa as a premier destination for ultra-trail running,” said Alison Badenhorst, RMB Chief Marketing Officer. “RMB is proud to see our partnership and the sport of trail running growing.
