The awards are hosted in association with the annual Farm Shop & Deli Show, held at the NEC Birmingham. The programme is widely regarded as a benchmark within the UK’s independent retail and speciality food sector, with the 2026 edition attracting a record number of entries.
According to organisers, all four products in the Giraf range were recognised. These include the Original, Unsweetened, Macadamia with Gluten Free Oats, and Macadamia with Vanilla Extract variants. The awards body confirmed that each product achieved Silver status following evaluation by a panel of industry specialists.
Judging criteria for the awards include taste, quality, innovation, packaging, and commercial appeal. Organisers noted that Silver Awards are granted to products that demonstrate consistently high performance across all categories, particularly in a competitive environment with a large number of entries.
The recognition highlights the growing presence of South African food products in international markets, particularly within the plant-based category. Philip Moufarrige, founder and managing director of the brand, said the achievement reflects both product quality and the contribution of local macadamia growers.
