TFG’s Prestige Clothing Launches New Factory That Is Designed For The Deaf

TFG’s Prestige Clothing Launches New Factory That Is Designed For The Deaf. TFG’s Prestige Clothing took to Facebook to announce that it has opened a new factory that is designed for the deaf. The company stated that this is an initiative that is aimed at creating employment for the graduates of St. Vincent School for the deaf.

The post read, “Breaking New Ground TFG’s Prestige Clothing today officially opened the doors to a new factory designed for the deaf. The factory will upskill and provide employment opportunities to graduates from St. Vincent School for the deaf. Previously talented learners would leave the school unable to find jobs. The first 23 intake of learners will complete an NQF level 2 CTFL manufacturing learnership in 2021. An additional 24 learners are also currently on the programme and will complete their learnership in 2022.”

The company has make it clear that it seeks to develop and uplift communities and with this project they are set to create real change in the life’s of the learners at St. Vincent School for the deaf. The unemployment in South Africa among the youth is very high, and having a disability such as being deaf can limit a lot of talent learners when they graduate from school to not find employment opportunities due to companies not catering for deaf people in their work environments. TFG’s Prestige Clothing seeks to make a contribution in helping learners who are deaf to secure sustainable employment.

“The TFG Prestige facility represents an important moment for me. I have often opened much bigger factory projects, but this one is special because it is about providing opportunities to those that society tends to easily forget because of their disabilities.” Minister of trade and industry Ebrahim Patel said in a statement. Creating employment in South Africa has been what the people of the country have been trying to do and with efforts from big companies such as TFG’s Prestige Clothing, it can be said that people should embrace more entrepreneurship ideas as this will create more companies that will in turn create more jobs.
