1. Ken Clark is not only the founder and managing director of Twizza Soft Drinks but he is also the founder and owner of Crickley Dairy.
2. Twizza is a cool drink brand many South Africans are familiar with.
3. Twizza was established in 2003 by Ken after he stumbled across some antiquated soft drink manufacturing equipment.
4. While Clark was already involved with Crickley Dairy at the time, he enjoyed the idea of creating a soft drink line so much that he installed a state-of-the-art carbonated soft drink line on Crickley’s Queenstown site.
5. By 2012 a second Twizza factory was opened up in Middelburg and a third plant established in 2015, in Cape Town.
6. Ken employs about 1000 people.
7. Ken says, “To be a successful entrepreneur one does not necessarily have to be in the bright lights to go for it.”
8. He mentions that Twizza products do not fall into the “cheap and nasty” category of soft drinks but the focus has always been on producing affordable quality.
9. He started Crickley Dairy in 1984 in Indwe and later moved the operations to Queenstown in 1996.
10. His wife, Mary-Anne, had been involved in the business since the early days and their two sons, Robert and Noel, also work in the businesses.
