1. Nkhensani Nkosi is a fashion designer based in South Africa.
2. Her label, Stoned Cherrie, created in 2000, has recently expanded to include eyewear and upholstery.
3. Ms. Nkosi has been a television personality, actress and designer, including of ceramics.
4. She has traveled throughout Africa and, coupled with her spiritual commitment to the creative process, has become a spokesperson for the diversity of African fashion.
5. Her work was exhibited at Fashion Institute of Technology as part of the exhibition Black Fashion Designers from December 2016 to May 2017.
6. An image of Nkhensani Nkosi working in her Johannesburg studio is included in the book, “The Language of Fashion Design” as an example of how designer’s develop their collection.
7. Manganyi’s film acting credits include Legend of the Hidden City, Tarzan: The Epic Adventures and Kickboxer 5.
8. In 2003 Manganyi was a judge on the South African run of the television series Popstars.
9. She commented at the time: “In the past the criticism that (Pop Stars) is heavily American influenced could be relevant, but I think our new format has helped to change that.”.
