aQuelle Water Removed From Major Retail Shelves Amid Abuse Allegations
Sexual, physical, psychological abuse and money laundering allegations have been levelled against the 50 year old Christian Mission, KwaSizabantu in Kwa Zulu Natal. These disturbing claims from some church members has resulted in a few major retail companies to sever its ties with the company.
Kwa Sizabantu Mission is closely associated with Emseni Farming, which supplies lettuce and peppers to many retail companies in South Africa.
Woolworths, Makro, Food Lovers, Game, Spar have cut ties with Kwa Sizabantu Mission, including all the other related companies, including Ekhamanzi Springs which owns aQuelle water.
Food Lovers Market released a media statement which reads as follows:
” We’re aware of the allegations against KwaSizabantu Mission and also its link to Ekhamanzi Springs, which supplies Aquelle products. We find the allegations most disturbing and we’re taking it very seriously”
Pick ‘n Pay and Shoprite haven’t pulled out on the business dealings with KwaSizabantu Mission, hence they’re still in talks, which will ultimately influence their final decision to terminate the contract or not.
