Founder of men’s grooming salon, Legends Barbershop, Sheldon Tatchell has worked hard at solidifying his name within the beauty and grooming industry in South Africa.
1. Where It All Began:
At the tender age of 14 years old, his father bought him a set of clippers, and from there onwards, the passion set ablaze in his heart.
First Store Outlet:
Sheldon’s first cut into the world of business was when he and his friend, successfully set up for business, at a porch outside of a local supermarket.
Quitting The Co-operate World:
After a series of unhappy moments at his suit and tie nine to five job, Sheldon decided to pursue his barbershop business full time – and has never looked back ever since!
The Official Launch:
Legends Barbershop officially opened its doors in the year 2011 and the popular business has been on booming mode ever since!
Branching Out:
Legends Barbershop, has since branched out to various provinces all over South Africa, including Durban, Cape Town and of course Gauteng. By the end of 2019, the business had 15 stores, and a VIP mobile unit.
Doubts:
If Sheldon had given in to his small negative voice in his head, there wouldn’t be any Legends Barbershop . In an interview with TimesLive, Sheldon said the following: “I thought to myself, who makes cutting hair a career”? After being unhappy in cooperate, decided to quit. “
