Ctrl Aims To Guide South Africans To Make The Best Insurance Choice. Ctrl Financial Intermediaries (CFI) was formed as South Africa’s first digital short term insurance advisor. The app was developed by the CFI’s sister company, Ctrl Technologies, a software company that specialises in creating solutions for the insurance industry. Both form part of Ctrl Investment Holdings.

Ctrl is a digital insurance advisor company that aims to make car and household insurance easy, accessible and transparent. It helps customers to get the right cover from the right insurer and ensures that the insurance is the best for its clients throughout its duration. Ctrl was founded in 2017 by Pieter Venter, Francois Venter and Pieter Erasmus, these three who had long careers in the financial services and insurance industries saw a way to improve the outdated insurance landscape by creating a smart software solution.

In an interview with NS Insurance co-founder and CEO Pieter Venter said, “you can go to an old school broker, who you need to meet face to face, answer all their underwriting questions, give them your information wait a couple of days and hopefully they come back with a number of quotes and possibly a recommendation or you could go to a direct player, where you call up one of the call centres and try to get a quote from one of them through answering the same underwriting questions, a process that takes 40 minutes and at the end of that process you only have one quote.” The app makes everything seamless as you can get the best quotes recommend to you just by a click of a button.

The company comprises of a team of specialists in the fields of technology, insurance advice as well as general team members. Its advisors are qualified representatives that are registered and authorised to give counsel to anyone seeking advice about insurance services as determined by FSCA.

The company has also put in efforts to make their platform accessible to anyone who wants to use it as they realised that the app would be ideal for the Deaf and Hard Hearing communities as well as people in remote areas that don’t have regular access to a traditional broker. It has managed to collaborate with relevant parties to create a solution that would enable anyone to do their own insurance without having to talk over the phone. The app can be downloaded on the Apple store and Google play store.
