DRIP Footwear Opens A New Store In Thohoyandou Venda
DRIP Footwear Opens A New Store In Thohoyandou Venda. Entrepreneurship is buzzing among young South Africans. Most of them have not let their backgrounds keep them from pursing their entrepreneurial dreams however they found inspiration and motivations form these backgrounds. Creating a business that will provide value to people and the community is what makes a successful business and one person that has cracked this formula is DRIP Footwear founder Lekau Sehoana. His brand has managed to capture the attention of South Africans and it is slowly becoming one of the most recognisable South African footwear brands.
“The count-down has officially begun! We are super excited to be opening our store in Thavhani Mall, Thohoyandou this coming weekend. Be sure t come out in numbers but don’t forget your masks. It’s going to be one for the books #ThavhaniMallXDrip.” The brand announced on its Twitter account on the 8th of February 2020.
The brand announced that it will be adding a 6th store to its existing chain of stores which will be based in Venda, Thohoyandou. The launch of the store was attended by South African celebrities such as Zodwa Wabantu and Makhadzi.
“I have been getting a lot of support from Venda, and that is why I knew I had to bring it closer to the people. I am very excited about the growth of this brand, it’s just under two years and already doing so great,” said Sehoana in a statement.
Sehoana told Sowetan that, “My grandmother taught me how to sew. So for this one particular day at school, we were told to wear our private clothes. I didn’t have any shoes to wear. So I took an old torn pair of sneakers and I sew it together, using denim and polyurethane. That’s how I created my first pair of sneakers.”
With the success that the business is having, it shows that young entrepreneurs should not give up on their dreams as having a physical store was once a dream to Sehoana; it is now a reality with the opening of his sixth store.
