Telkom Offers Small Businesses Unlimited Voice Calls For Only R199 Per Month! South African Telecommunications Company, Telkom announced that it will be offering small businesses unlimited voice calls for only R199 per month. “For a limited time, small business customers will receive unlimited voice call plans at just R199 per month. This offering includes monthly line rentals as well as usage, saving the average customer about 30 percent of their average rental and usage costs,” said Telkom Business in a statement. This is an effort by Telkom to help small businesses that are negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been almost a year since the South African government announced the National State of Disaster due t the Covid-19 pandemic. Many businesses did not expect the Corona Virus to last for this long therefore they did not prepare themselves for the financial setback that came with it.
Dumisani Bengu, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Telkom Business told Independent Online that, “Through the unlimited voice calls product, we are subsidising the small and medium business customers who have been severely affected by Covid-19. It is aimed at helping small businesses to get back up on their feet by reducing their operational costs.”
With the Corona Virus in full effect, many businesses were forced to take their operations online as country implemented a national lockdown and urged everyone to maintain social distancing protocols in public spaces. Conducting business online may not be too expensive but this comes at a time when most businesses aren’t getting as many clients as they were before Covid-19 thus they are not making enough profit to sustain an online business with a few customers. This Telkom offer will last till the end of July and will be reviewed after that to assess whether it should be continued or not.
“The offer is targeted at small business owners who are new customers and those who were previously with Telkom but had to suspend or cancel the service due to lack of affordability. The new plans will also be available to existing Telkom Business customers who wish to add voice line to their existing package,” the mobile operator said in a statement.
