Businesses Owned By Kwesta. Senzo Brikka Vilakazi known professionally as Kwesta is a South African rapper and songwriter. Born in Katlehong, Gauteng, a township also known as ‘K1′, at the age of 15, he and his friends formed a rap group “Ghetto Fellaz” which then changed to “The Juvenylz”, in 2003. He released his debut studio album Special ReKwest (2010) and his second album DaKAR (2013), which peaked number 3 on iTunes South Africa Hip-hop/Rap chart. In February 26, 2016, he released his third album DaKAR II, with singles include; “Ngud’,” “Nomayini,” “Day Ones,” “Ngiyazifela Ngawe,” “Mayibabo” and “Mmino” and was certified 7x Platinum by Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA). Having sold 210 000 copies in South Africa, Kwesta became best selling hip hop albums of all-time. Below are some of the businesses owned by Kwesta.

Urbantainment

After successful years with Buttabing, Kwesta left the label in 2012 to form Urbantainment. The objective of Urbantainment is to mentor talented artists. Some of the artists under the Urbantainment label include TLT, a rap group from Kwesta’s hometown. Three years after the release of his debut album, Kwesta dropped DaKAR (Da King of Afrikan Rap), through his company, Urbantainment.

RapLyf Records

RapLyf Records is a record company that specialises in marketing music recordings and music videos. They manage brands and trademarks. The company coordinates the production, distribution, marketing, promotion and enforcement of copyright for sound recordings and music videos. Kwesta is currently signed to the independent media company along with co-founder Kid X. Kwesta also mentioned that he did not intend on signing more artists to the label as he wants to keep the company small.
