She started as a radio trainee at 5fm and later joined Yfm as a radio show producer and thereafter a co-host of the then popular afternoon drive radio show called ‘Essential Rush’ with well known Chilli M before taking over the show after Chilli M’s departure. She co-hosted Club 808 (a music show on e.TV) along with Moeti ‘Mo Flava’ Tsiki and both became favourites as they did prime rime radio and TV at the same time. The reality TV star produces TV shows through her production company, Brains At Work Media Productions. Brains At Work Media Productions is the company behind Dineo’s Diary and The Ranakas. “Drama is intellectually moving. It requires more layers to produce than a reality show. I appreciate its complexity and the nature of what it is.” Ranaka told Daily Sun.

Dineo and her family opened the restaurant to help create jobs, establish a traditional and affordable place to eat and bring their family. Ranaka told Briefly ZA that opening the restaurant with her family was a way of getting them together. “When you have your own families, life gets away with you at times and it becomes challenging to get everyone together. “Black tax” was a big driving force behind the start-up of the restaurant.” Dineo and her family wanted to help create jobs. The restaurant has now given unemployed people in the community a chance to work.
