Fire Destroys Mmabatho Palms Hotel One Of South Africa’s Oldest Resorts. Peermont Hotels Casinos and Resorts has confirmed that a fire broke out at one of the oldest casino resorts in South Africa, Mmabatho Palms, Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 8 September 2021. The hotel said in a statement that the Police and Fire Departments are in the process of investigating the incident and further information will be issued when available and until further notice, the resort will remain closed to the public.
This devastating fire is going to affect the lives of the employees of the establishment negatively as they will now be out of jobs; this will not only affect the employees but also other businesses that were working with the resort to provide products or services. The resort is one of the oldest in South Africa as it was founded in 1977. As one of the leading resorts in Mafikeng, Mmabatho Palms is home to the 150-key Walmont Hotel.
