According to the company Fiya is in honour and recognition on uNomafiya, mother to the founder and also inspired by iFiya which is the fig fruit name in the isiXhosa language. Figs have long been revered for their ability to survive in different environments which is synonymous with its goals.

The company’s vision is to become a global premium health, beauty and wellness brand that is rooted in nature for natural skin glow and offer quality cosmetics. Its mission is to offer a high end niche and premium skincare range and lifestyle cosmetics that source organic ingredients to enhance beauty and overall wellness and to be fully digital and online aspiring for a global presence.

Fiya Shea Glow story was founded by Lindiwe Songca when she took a work trip to the tropical city on the Gulf of Guinea in June 2019. Lindiwe was struggling to find an alternative skincare product, for her sensitive skin, which would provide lasting moisture and nourishment. This is when she found shea butter and had an idea of creating her own brand.
