Founder Of Sikis Koffee Kafe Sikelela Dibela Shares The Strategies He Used To Grow His Coffee Business. Growing a startup can be a very difficult task, especially when one doesn’t have the right knowledge in terms of which business strategies work and which don’t. In an interview with Yoco ZA, founder of Sikis Koffee Kafe Sikelela Dibela shared the strategies he used to grow his coffee business.

He said, “The early days when I started, it was very hard to make or even break even so I had to tap into how do I become a sale s person, how do I become a marketing person, how do I become all these things that I wasn’t aware of. Khayelitsha right now is full of entrepreneurs, what they will find is that it’s a challenge for them to go to town to have meetings there, now propel are starting up their own businesses and using the Café as a meeting point if they have meetings.”

“The challenges were I was only taking cash, and people who had cards were turning away. I’m able to grow my business through the data that Yoco keeps for me that I am able to analyse and see. I did have dreams of owing a coffee shop but I never dreamt of us being in Cavendish or in Claremont where we are up against or competing with the best.” Dibela added.

Dibela highlights that he as worked hard in order to achieve the level of success that his business has achieved. He also shares that he had to learn a lot of things that he wasn’t knowledgeable about but he went through with it so that the business can grow. Through everything that Dibela implemented in his business, him implementing the acceptance of card payments helped his business significantly as he would not be turning away customers but he would secure a lot of sales.
