How Origins Publishers Seeks To Make Learning Languages Accessible To Everyone

How Origins Publishers Seeks To Make Learning Languages Accessible To Everyone. Origins Publishers has launched with a series titled “Farm animals”, available in all of South Africa’s official languages (and growing). Origins Publishers produces books in a bilingual format which makes learning languages accessible to everyone. The company has invested a lot of time and effort into developing a product that would be exciting for little readers.

The company started when author and founder Mosa Mkhize was pregnant with her first child. Having had first-hand experience of many of the developmental benefits of multilingualism, Mosa wanted to equip her child with learning the multiple languages which are part of her rich heritage and culture. Her fond childhood memories of multilingual storytelling with her parents, grandparents, and teachers while growing up in Matatiele South Africa, further inspired her to make reading a central part of her family.

Mosa searched the market for multilingual books that she could use as tools. In short, she could not find what she was looking for. Motivated to create this for her child, Mosa took it upon herself to create the vision that she had for her family. Little did she know that many families across the lengths and breadths of South Africa (and beyond), were in fact looking for the same an md so, Origins Publishers was born.

Mosa Mkhize is originally from a rural village in Matatiele, South Africa. It is her fond childhood memories with her parents, aunties, uncles, and grandparents sharing generational stories with her, that inspired her to contribute to celebrating and preserving the rich cultural, and historical richness. The use of bright and appealing textures, tapestries and languages used in the books and educational materials is a colourful exploration for everyone to enjoy.
