Mr Price Ranked As The Most Valuable Fashion Brand In South Africa. South African fashion retailer, Mr Price took to LinkedIn to announe that it has been ranked as the most valuable fashion brand in South Africa by Kantar BrandZ.

Kantar BrandZ’s series of brand ranking reports diagnose and contextualise the growth strategies of the world’s most valuable brands, against the current macroeconomic landscape. Time and time again, Kantar BrandZ analysis has proven that businesses that invest in their brands outperform the market, and that investment in marketing remains the most powerful form of defence in times of crisis. Telecoms provider MTN was crowned the new number one most valuable brand in 2022’s South African ranking, with a brand value of $3.7 billion. Leaping up four places, MTN is also the fastest riser having grown its brand value by 85%, achieved by a combination of overseas expansion and sound strategic positioning.

According to Kantar BrandZ, this serves as proof that the brands that are growing in South Africa tend to be highly dynamic, launching new products and services, expanding into adjacent categories and occasionally entering completely different ones. For example, telecom providers are offering payment services, insurers are opening banks, pharmacy retailers are selling their own medical insurance, and alcohol brands are launching fragrances.
