How KasieLabs Is Uplifting People In Townships Through Digital Skills Training. KasieLabs, a pop up digital skills training provider established with the intention to address the digital skills divide and unemployment. The company provides training courses accredited by MICTSeta; Cisco decoded into local languages thus accelerating accessibility to the digital world. The training can be held anywhere, everywhere and anytime.

KasieLabs is a multi- award winning, private company that was established in 2016 and started operating in 2017 with the intention to address the digital skills divide and unemployment. It operates from a township called Katlehong and it provides digital skills training. The company has trained over 20 000 people with digital skills. It caters to the basic education and higher education market, including high schools, colleges, universities, and professional educational institutions. Its purpose is to change the world one click at a time. KasieLab’s vision and mission is to empower the people by giving them skills of the future.

Cooperating with computer centres in schools, institutions of higher learning and professional bodies to enable them to participate in 4th industrial revolution led to KasieLabs’ entry into the digital revolution market since three years ago. KasieLabs has since grown rapidly and secured strategic partnerships with provincial government, corporates and communities to set its STEM footprints in townships, informal settlements and rural communities.

The company provides an overview of the content for that lesson, including an introduction to the terms used in the lesson. Then it gives its clients one to three activities that are step-by-step experiences to give participants a guided introduction to the tools that are presented. There are also suggested activities for going further with the skills developed and applying them to something new.

The company was founded by Siphokazi Nciza; she completed a BSc Computer Science degree, IT National Certificate and a few other professional certificates. She is a qualified facilitator, registered assessor, moderator, mentor and coach. Before establishing KasieLabs Siphokazi worked for years in blue chip corporates in the IT industry e.g. Vodacom, MTN, IBM and BCX. Through this Siphokazi began to develop her thinking about how she can create and manage her Intellectual Property (IP).
