Elon Musk’s Starlink Set To Launch In Kenya This Year. Satellite internet constellation Starlink has announced that it is set to launch in Kenya in the second quarter of this year. The constellation is owned and operated by Musk’s space exploration company SpaceX.

Starlink is already available for order in Kenya on its website, people can order the internet service for a refundable $99. The company also states that the launch and availability of the service is also subject to regulatory approval. The company plans on launching this service in areas such as Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nakuru, among other towns in the country. With the launch the company is going to be competing with some of Kenya’s already established Internet service providers such as Safaricom, Zuku and Faiba.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX, providing satellite Internet access coverage to 45 countries. It also aims for global mobile phone service after 2023. SpaceX started launching Starlink satellites in 2019. Starlink is the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, video calls and more.

With Starlink, users can engage in activities that historically have not been possible with satellite internet. Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency service is made possible via the world’s largest constellation of highly advanced satellites operating in a low orbit around the Earth.
