The company was founded by Daniel Ndima who is a scientist that specialises in structural biology of infectious diseases. He is a protein engineer, trained in protein crystallography, bioprocess engineering and biomanufacturing. He has a Bachelor & Honours degrees in Biotechnology and a Masters degree in structural biology. Throughout his academic journey, he was awarded multiple awards and scholarships for his excellence in academics, social responsibility, student leadership, and entrepreneurial initiatives. CapeBio’s success can primarily be attributed to the support and guidance it received at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) when the company was still a research project. The project was further supported by the South African Government’s Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), which ultimately led to its firm establishment as a privately-owned company.

Today, CapeBio has comprehensive network of local and international stakeholders and partners, as well as research collaborators and clientele. This unique network ensures the conformity of all its products to internationally approved gold standards
