Mitchell’s Plain Festival Fueled With Shoprite Generator And Diesel SSponsorship. Organisers of the DStv Kyknet Mitchell’s Plain Festival have partnered with Shoprite to ensure a reliable power supply for the duration of this three-day event.
Taking place from 1 – 3 December 2023, the festival is known for its diverse entertainment lineup, local food vendors, artisan stalls, and family-friendly activities.
Shoprite – which has five supermarkets serving customers in the Mitchell’s Plain area – recognises the importance of supporting local events that promote community spirit and contribute to economic growth. To ensure that loadshedding does not disrupt festivities, the supermarket chain will cover the generator and diesel costs for this event.
“The festival creates over one thousand part-time jobs and offers valuable opportunities for residents to contribute to their community’s success. The partnership with Shoprite is a match made in heaven, as we both share the common goal of supporting and uplifting the Mitchell’s Plain community.” says Rozario Brown, founder and director of the Mitchell’s Plain Festival.
The event is organized by Cycle of Life, a local based sole proprietor, launched in 2000 with the main objective of hosting community based events aimed at heightening awareness around issues affecting the local and surrounding communities. The business is headed by well-known community activist, Mr. Rozario Brown. With more than 20 year’s experience in event management, public relations, advertising and communication, Brown is well suited to take the Mitchell’s Plain to greater heights.
