Pretoria Capitals Announces Partnership With Airlink. The Pretoria Capitals SA20 cricket squad will travel with Airlink, South Africa’s premier independent airline, during the forthcoming Betway SA20 Cricket championship, the franchise and airline announced. The SA20 tournament, the first edition of which took place earlier this year, is set to begin in January and be contested until the final in February 2024.

Airlink is the team’s official carrier for the tournament and will fly the squad and support staff between their matches taking place in Centurion, Durban, Cape Town, Paarl, Johannesburg and Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

“When competing in a high-pressure tournament, with an intense travelling itinerary, players, coaches, and support staff need to avoid additional stress. With Airlink’s on-time, convenient, comfortable, and hassle-free flights, the Pretoria Capitals will be able to optimise their preparation, match, and rest time,” said Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.

“We’re really glad to have Airlink on board as our Official Airline Partner for the SA20 season. Travelling between cities with a short turnaround time can have a big impact on the performances of professional sports teams, and to have the support of the team at Airlink for this year’s competition is certainly a big positive. We’re looking forward to a fruitful association,” said JSW Sports COO, Divyanshu Singh.

The tournament will see the Pretoria Capitals compete in a summer series of intense and entertaining 20-over matches with South Africa’s and the world’s best cricketers going all out for glory. Pretoria Capitals began their SA20 campaign with a clash against Paarl Royals at Boland Park on 12 January 2024.

Pretoria Capitals is owned and operated by JSW Sports, the sporting wing of the 23-billion US Dollar JSW Group. The team plays its home matches at the Centurion Park cricket grounds, and has the likes of Jimmy Neesham, Anrich Nortje, Eathan Bosch, and Daryn Dupavillon, among others in its team. In the inaugural season of the SA20, the Capitals made their way to the final, losing out to Paarl Royals.
