Santam Rated One Of SA’s Top 10 Employers

Santam Rated One Of SA’s Top 10 Employers. Santam has for the eighth consecutive year been certified and rated as one of South Africa’s top employers by the Top Employers Institute, the global HR authority on recognising excellence in people practices. Through the Top Employers Institute Certification Programme, participating companies can be validated, certified, and recognised as an employer of choice. This year Santam ranked 8th on list, an improvement from the 2023 rating, where the company was placed 10th on the list. It is also the only general insurer on the Top 10 list.

The Institute awards this certification to employers that provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent across all levels of the organisation, and strive to optimise employee experiences and practices. This certification also allows organisations to leverage their employer branding, benchmark their practices against other top performers, and globally align their policies.

Norah Sehunoe, Executive Head of Human Resources at Santam, says, “We’re honoured to have been certified as a Top Employer for the eighth consecutive year. This recognition is a testament to our organisation’s unwavering commitment to prioritising and investing in our people and our dedication to cultivating an empowering environment that enables our employees to excel and fulfil their roles with purpose. Receiving this acknowledgment from an independent global authority reaffirms, once again, our steadfast commitment to prioritising and investing in our people.”

To display the Top Employer seal, participating companies must achieve consistently high standards as part of an extensive assessment process with a wide spread of people practices analysed and ranked across nineteen topics. The criteria assessed include people strategy, leadership, digital HR, employer brand, talent attraction, learning, career and performance, employee wellbeing, rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, ethics and integrity.

Norah concludes, “We understand that every individual within our organisation plays a crucial role in Santam’s success. Consequently, rewarding, acknowledging, and fostering the growth of our talent constitute fundamental elements of our people strategy. Our organisational culture is centered around the aspiration to establish a work environment that fosters and supports our people, enabling them to thrive. While celebrating this milestone, we are also directing our focus toward areas that require enhancement. Our ongoing commitment is to craft an extraordinary experience for all members of our team.”
