Black Owned Thoko’s Diamonds Aims To Be The Most Reputable Diamond Cutting Company. Established in 2004, Thoko’s Diamonds is one of the leading, black-owned diamond-cutting and polishing companies in South Africa. Driven by their passion for diamonds, combined with innovation, Thoko’s Diamonds provides rough and polished diamonds to local and international markets.

With a combined experience of over 30 years, its directors Thoko Zwane and Zipho Dlamini ensure trust and integrity are the centre of their business. Thoko means joy in isiZulu, which aptly represents the happiness that diamonds from Thoko’s Diamonds give to its clients.

Thoko’s Diamonds vision is to be South Africa’s most reputable diamond cutting and polishing company that is globally recognized for producing high-quality stones. It’s mission is to grow its client base in local and international markets by providing a continuous supply of high-quality stones, while playing a significant role in empowering women in the South African diamond industry. 75% of Thoko’s Diamonds’ staff complement is made up of women – this stems from Thoko’s Diamonds’ values of empowering women in the diamond industry.

The company gives the assurance that its diamonds are cut and polished in South Africa by South Africans; the company is being fully supported by De Beers, the world’s leading diamond company, which supplies a specific and consistent rough diamond supply to suit the jewellery manufacturer/ retailer’s requirements. The company also assures that quality is guaranteed as per internationally-recognised standard and that the highest industry ethical standards are adhered to.

After more than a decade as a diamond polisher, Thoko Zwane decided to take a brave step towards growth in the diamond industry and she established Thoko’s Diamonds. Thoko Zwane was later joined by her son Zipho Dlamini. Zipho Dlamini is the co-owner of Thoko’s Diamonds. Since Zipho joined Thoko’s Diamonds, the company’s client base has increased significantly, and now trades globally. With a good business acumen, he is a strong negotiator with good business development and client relationship management skills.
