Founder Of Senso Zuko Mandlakazi Explains How His Start-Up Is Assisting The Deaf Community To Interpret Sounds. In an interview with Multichoice, South African entrepreneur and founder of Senso Zuko Mandlakazi explained how his startup is assisting the deaf community to interpret sounds.

He said, “Senso is a device you wear on your wrist connected to sensors that respond to sounds. When a baby is crying in the room with a Senso or the kettle is boiling the device will vibrate and light up, this is a unique way to connect deaf communities to life saving sounds. Only 10% of the global need for hearing aids are met and even then hearing aids must be removed at night meaning life saving sounds can’t be heard.”

Mandlakazi is an entrepreneur that is passionate about making a difference in his communities. Mandlakazi is also a qualified and experienced Accounting Technician with a full Bookkeeping function, an extensive knowledge and experience with the Payroll functions, Statutory Returns, Budgets and Financial- Able to prepare accounts from source documents to Financial Statements applying BAS, GAAP and IFRS with an extensive knowledge on PFMA, Vat Act, Batho Pele, Banks Act, Banking knowledge, Foreign Trade and Reserve Bank Regulations.

Mandlakazi believes that by creating such solutions for the deaf community, he will be helping them live a safe life where they can interpret different sounds through the Senso device. The Senso device is an innovative technology that proves yet again how vital technology is for human survival. Since it began the company sought to bring a seamless way the deaf community can interpret sound.

This device will make sure that the deaf community has something they can rely on in helping them make decisions regarding sounds. This will be a huge help to them as sounds do exist and if they could interpret them a bit better they will have a safer life.
