“Africa is a continent brimming with immense entrepreneurial potential and creativity. Through BLU Flamingo Africa, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing and nurturing this spirit firsthand across multiple nations. From the tech hubs of South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria to the emerging startup ecosystems of Uganda and Rwanda, there is a palpable drive among African women to shatter glass ceilings and redefine what’s possible through innovation and grit. My goal is to be a catalyst that unlocks these formidable entrepreneurial forces by providing mentorship and resources and shining an empowering spotlight on their remarkable journeys. South Africa stands at an exciting precipice when it comes to entrepreneurship and the digital economy. Over the past 30 years, we’ve witnessed significant progress and momentum building within our nation’s entrepreneurial landscape. While challenges remain, the opportunities available to South Africans today, especially the youth, are remarkable compared to previous generations,” says Lojede.

She adds that while many people are sceptical about South Africa’s economic future, Lojede feels that one needs to build on the momentum of the progress made in South Africa over the past 30 years. “While scepticism about our economic trajectory persists in some quarters, I choose to focus on the incredible foundational progress we’ve achieved thus far. The youth of today can build upon this momentum to shape a South Africa where future generations can prosper boundlessly. This prospect fills me with immense excitement for my company and our nation’s entrepreneurial frontiers,” points out Lojede.

As a category winner at the Woman of Stature Awards, Lojede will mentor women in the Woman Rise Mentoring Program, which aims to address the core challenges businesswomen face in South Africa. “The future is bright for all South Africans. With strong leadership, we can develop the skills that will be able to build South Africa into the African economic powerhouse it once was,” says Lojede.
