In the 90s Patrick Tshipuke was the first black person to start paint manufacting brand in South Africa, manufacturing decorative and industrial paints. The brand was founded in Limpopo Thohoyandou. In 2011 Patrick passed on but his vision stayed alive and the son Livhu Tshipuke being inspired by his dad he became very passionate in building a paint brand, he then started a paint company in 2017 and named Pat and Jul Paints which then started trading as AfriCoat in 2022.
