Pan-African Crowdfunding Initiative Launched to Back Social Entrepreneurs. A new collaboration between Africa Forward, Collaborative Value Partners Africa (CVPAfrica), and Thunda Fund African Rainmakers has been announced, introducing a crowdfunding initiative aimed at supporting social entrepreneurs across the continent.

The partnership brings together organizations focused on enterprise development and innovative financing, with the shared goal of helping entrepreneurs access capital through rewards-based crowdfunding. The initiative is presented as a practical step toward expanding funding options for individuals and ventures working to create social and economic impact in their communities.

As part of the programme, selected participants will take part in a hands-on crowdfunding bootcamp. The bootcamp is designed to guide participants through the process of designing, launching, and managing a rewards-based crowdfunding campaign. Organisers describe the programme as practical, focused, and action-oriented.

According to the announcement, the bootcamp will include training in storytelling, pricing, rewards structuring, marketing, and campaign delivery. Participants will also receive support in preparing and running a live campaign on the Thunda Fund platform. In addition, the initiative will involve peer learning within a small cohort of participants.

The programme is open to African creatives, business owners, and social entrepreneurs who have products or ideas they are ready to bring to market and communities they are prepared to engage. Only 15 participants will be selected for this pilot cohort.

Organisers say the broader aim of the collaboration is to unlock new financing pathways and help entrepreneurs mobilise community support for their work through crowdfunding.
