Daveyton Gathering Spotlighted 2026 Planning for Township Enterprises

Daveyton Gathering Spotlighted 2026 Planning for Township Enterprises. The Department of Small Business Development took part in the Kasi Business Workshop hosted by the Township Entrepreneurs Alliance in Daveyton, Gauteng. The event brought together small business owners, entrepreneurs, and support organisations for a focused engagement centred on preparing enterprises for the year ahead.
Held under the masterclass theme Set Strategic Goals for 2026, the session encouraged business owners to pause and reflect on their performance over the past year. Discussions guided participants through reviewing what had worked in their operations and identifying areas that had not delivered the desired results. This reflection formed the foundation for more informed planning and decision making.
Facilitators at the workshop shared practical guidance on defining clear and realistic goals for 2026. Emphasis was placed on aligning business ambitions with available resources, operational capacity, and growth targets. The structured approach aimed to help entrepreneurs avoid setting goals that were either too broad or disconnected from their day to day realities.
The programme featured a combination of learning and engagement platforms. Impactful masterclasses formed the core of the workshop, offering structured knowledge sessions for attendees. These were complemented by the Kasi Business Exhibition, which provided entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their products and services to fellow participants and stakeholders present on the day.
Another highlight of the event was the Kasi Pitching Challenge. This segment created a platform for selected entrepreneurs to present their business ideas and growth plans in a competitive setting. The pitching sessions added an element of practical application to the day’s learning, as business owners demonstrated how they intended to turn strategic goals into measurable outcomes.
Networking formed a key part of the workshop experience. Entrepreneurs, government representatives, and ecosystem partners engaged in conversations aimed at building relationships and exploring possible areas of collaboration. These interactions extended beyond formal sessions and continued throughout the day.
The Mbawula Chat inspiration segment added a more conversational element to the programme. This platform allowed for shared experiences and motivational exchanges among participants, creating space for storytelling and peer learning within the township business community.
Through its participation, the Department of Small Business Development contributed to a platform designed to strengthen planning, reflection, and goal setting among township based enterprises preparing for 2026.
