Soweto Tech Brand Khoi Tech Opens First Retail Store. South African technology company Khoi Tech has opened its first physical retail store at Telkom Park, marking a major milestone for the Soweto-founded brand as it expands its presence in the local technology market.

The store officially opened on Africa Day and represents the company’s first brick-and-mortar retail location since its establishment.

According to the company, the launch reflects years of growth and development for the business, which was founded in Soweto and has positioned itself as a locally driven technology brand focused on accessible digital products and connectivity solutions.

The opening was supported through Khoi Tech’s partnership with Telkom, which the company said has played a role in helping accelerate its expansion plans and improve access to technology products for South African consumers.

As part of the launch event, Khoi Tech also introduced its new Khoi Plug and Play 5G Router, powered by Telkom.

The company said the product is aimed at households, students, entrepreneurs and businesses seeking faster and more accessible internet connectivity solutions.

Khoi Tech said the router forms part of its broader effort to improve digital access and support participation in South Africa’s growing digital economy.

Seati Moloi, founder and chief executive officer of Khoi Tech, described the opening as an important moment for both the company and aspiring entrepreneurs across the country.

Moloi said the milestone demonstrates that locally developed technology brands can create products, build businesses and compete within the sector.

He added that the launch of the first retail store on Africa Day carried particular significance for the business and reflected its belief in African innovation and entrepreneurship.

The new store will provide customers with direct access to Khoi Tech’s range of smart devices and technology products while also serving as a physical customer engagement space for the brand.

The company said the expansion comes at a time when South Africa continues to focus on improving digital inclusion, connectivity and technology access across communities.

Khoi Tech’s growth story has drawn attention as an example of a locally founded technology business scaling through partnerships and product development within the South African market.

The company said it plans to continue developing technology solutions designed for local consumers while contributing to broader efforts aimed at increasing access to digital tools and connectivity services.
