MakeReign and Khula Take Home Eight Pixels for Digital Innovation in South African Agriculture. South African digital agency MakeReign and agritech company Khula have received eight Pixels at the 2026 IAB South Africa Bookmark Awards for their work on a digital ecosystem designed to support the agricultural sector.

The partnership secured four Gold, one Silver and three Bronze awards, with recognition spanning strategy, customer experience, interface design, mobile applications, platform innovation and technology.

Khula focuses on helping emerging farmers access agricultural inputs, buyers and finance. MakeReign and Khula worked together to develop a connected digital ecosystem intended to bring these needs into a more coordinated journey.

The ecosystem includes Khula Inputs, Khula Trader and Khula Money, alongside tools designed for suppliers and programme partners.

The four Gold Pixels were awarded in Software, Services & Platforms; Craft: Strategy; Craft: Software, Coding & Tech Innovation; and Craft: Interactive Design.

The work also received a Silver Pixel for Mobile Apps and Bronze awards in Customer Experience Design, Platform Innovation and Craft: Interface Design.

The recognition highlights the range of disciplines involved in developing the Khula ecosystem, from strategic planning and service design to product development and technical implementation.

For MakeReign, the awards recognise the work undertaken with Khula to develop digital products around the needs of people and businesses operating within agriculture.

The partnership’s work comes at a time when digital platforms are being developed to connect different parts of agricultural value chains. In Khula’s case, the ecosystem brings together services relating to inputs, trading and finance.

The eight awards also reflect the range of categories in which the project was recognised at the 2026 Bookmark Awards.

While the Gold awards highlighted strategy, technology, interactive design and software development, the additional Silver and Bronze awards recognised elements including mobile applications, customer experience and platform innovation.
