Yellow Card Raises $40 Million to Expand Global Stablecoin Payments Platform

Yellow Card Raises $40 Million to Expand Global Stablecoin Payments Platform. Digital payments company Yellow Card has secured $40 million in a strategic funding round that will support the expansion of its stablecoin payment infrastructure and Global USD Accounts, strengthening its presence across international markets.
The investment round was led by a group of institutional investors that includes SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital and Blockchain Capital. With the latest capital injection, Yellow Card said its total funding since launch now exceeds $120 million.
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its payment infrastructure, enabling businesses to move money more efficiently across borders while increasing the availability of its Global USD Accounts.
According to Yellow Card, the accounts allow businesses to hold US dollars, manage stablecoins, conduct treasury operations and collect or disburse funds using local payment systems in more than 50 countries.
SC Ventures Chief Executive Officer Alex Manson said stablecoins are becoming an increasingly important part of the global payments landscape, but their long-term adoption depends on reliable infrastructure and practical business applications.
He said Yellow Card has built the systems needed to support businesses across Africa and expressed confidence in the company’s ability to expand both on the continent and into other regions.
The funding round also marks an investment by Sony Innovation Fund, which said the transaction reflects growing institutional interest in stablecoin-based payment solutions.
Austin Noronha, Managing Director of Sony Ventures-US, said the company believes Yellow Card’s combination of application programming interfaces (APIs), local payment networks, security standards and regulatory approach positions it to support financial institutions, fintech companies and enterprises operating across emerging markets.
Yellow Card Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder Chris Maurice said the investment validates the company’s long-term strategy of building infrastructure that allows businesses to transfer money without relying solely on traditional correspondent banking systems.
He added that the next phase of growth will focus on helping financial institutions connect to stablecoin payment infrastructure while improving access to US dollar-based financial services for businesses in underserved markets.
The company said the additional funding will also support its expansion into Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region while strengthening local payment networks and increasing currency coverage.
Yellow Card reported that it has processed more than $10 billion in transactions across its network. The company supports more than 50 currencies and holds licences, authorisations or registrations in 22 jurisdictions across North America, Europe and Africa.
It also works with global financial and payments companies including Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Coinbase as part of its broader payments ecosystem.
