Meta Expands Subscription Push With Paid Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and AI Plans

Meta Expands Subscription Push With Paid Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and AI Plans. Meta has officially launched new subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp as the company expands its efforts to diversify revenue beyond advertising and build a broader subscription ecosystem across its platforms.
The company announced that consumer-focused subscriptions are now rolling out globally through new “Plus” plans for its flagship apps. The new Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus subscriptions are priced at $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus launches at $2.99 per month.
According to Meta, subscribers will gain access to additional platform features focused on personalisation, audience engagement and enhanced user experiences.
Instagram Plus includes features such as custom profile fonts, additional profile pins, story insights, expanded audience list options and animated “Super Heart” reactions for Stories. Subscribers will also be able to extend Stories beyond the standard 24-hour limit, spotlight stories for additional visibility and preview Stories without appearing in viewer lists.
Facebook Plus offers similar engagement and customisation tools, while WhatsApp Plus focuses on messaging enhancements including custom app themes, additional pinned chats, premium stickers and personalised ringtones.
Naomi Gleit, Meta’s head of product, said more features are expected to be added to the subscription services over time. The company said the new plans will operate separately from its existing Meta Verified offering, which remains focused on account verification, impersonation protection and customer support.
Alongside the consumer subscriptions, Meta also announced new tests for professional creator, business and artificial intelligence subscription products under a broader brand called Meta One.
The company said two AI-focused plans — Meta One Plus and Meta One Premium — will begin testing next month in Singapore, Guatemala and Bolivia. The higher-tier Premium option will offer expanded AI processing capabilities, including deeper reasoning functions and additional video and image generation tools across Meta’s platforms.
Meta also plans to introduce new creator and business subscription offerings in selected markets including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand and Bangladesh. These plans will include enhanced analytics, audience insights, content scheduling tools and expanded visibility features designed to help creators and businesses increase engagement across Facebook and Instagram.
Meta said the broader Meta One strategy is intended to unify its growing subscription ecosystem over time while continuing to expand features and platform capabilities.
